OUR PROGRAMS
The Summer Leadership Program (SLP) began in 1995, with SLP 2024 marking our 30th summer. The program provides teenagers with an exciting, powerful, diverse, and fun summer of community building, self discovery, leadership skills, action projects, campaigns with local nonprofits, and challenging and dynamic curriculum to organizing themselves into powerful voices for change.
PTC offers a school-year pathways for youth leaders to develop as educators, organizers and advocates, and organizational leaders.
The Ella Baker Young Adult fellowship seeks to develop young adult youth workers, facilitators and organizers in becoming effective organizational leaders and staff, in order to strengthen movement building and movement infrastructure across Boston.
Social Justice Leadership Institute (SJLI) is a two-day intensive session held over a fall or spring weekend. The retreat focuses on supporting independent school participants to develop a deep understanding -- both personally and systemically -- of racial, economic, gender and queer justice, using story-telling, community-building and affinity spaces for an experience students find transformative.
The Social Justice Education Institute (SJEI) is a program for educators, civic leaders, youth workers, administrators, and others who want to strengthen the power of youth and bring The City School's model of racial and social justice educations to their school or workplace.
