Leadership Transition Announcement

The City School Board of Directors are excited to announce the hiring of two co-Executive Directors to serve on an interim basis: Amatullah Mervin, adding executive responsibilities to her previous position of Coordinator of Resources and Programming; and Anne Wright, proud mother of an SLP’18 graduate and former senior director at YouthBuild USA. Amatullah and Anne are thrilled to jump into the job, overseeing the Summer Leadership Program, the merger with Boston Mobilization, and a myriad of other tasks that will keep The City School offering its important and powerful programs to urban and suburban youth throughout the year.

Exciting Next Step: New Affiliation Agreement with Boston Mobilization

We are very excited to share with you some important news. After several months of thought and discussion, we have decided to enter into an affiliation agreement with our very close and long-time partner, Boston Mobilization!

Boston Mobilization develops and empowers teen leaders for social justice and has been a long time collaborator of The City School through our Summer Leadership Program as well as their Social Justice Leadership Institute.

The City School is committed to supporting organizations with similar missions and in that spirit decided to offer a new home to Boston Mobilization's core program, Sub/Urban Justice, as well as its other existing programs. Our Board of Directors believes that by integrating the two organizations' programs we are building strategic strength especially in the face of such important times in this country.  We will continue developing youth leadership and bringing together youth across difference for social justice.

Stay tuned for more exciting events and activities coming this fall.  Reach out to the TCS Staff if you have any questions and/or would like to offer your support during this important and wonderful transition for our organizations.
